OK here are the updates...

1: Married
2: Now expecting a child!!!!! (Dec. 17 is the due date)
3: Writing three stories now, one with a friend, the other two by myself.
4: Haven't done much art cause I have a lot of things already with writing and work

I feel ok, Mono is wearing off slowly but surely; I haven't needed to take my meds in a while (saving them for a rainy day in case the symptoms return again like they did a couple weeks ago).

And as for the baby, my wife and I have picked names already...

Boy = Xander Kallen
Girl = Carabell Adelaide

(That's first and middle names)

As I said before, I am writing a lot; one with a friend, two without. The co-op book series has progressed past the one-and-a-half year planning stage and is now being written.

My two personal stories take place in the very near future (2040) and the far-distant future (so distant as to be totally irrelevant to the inhabitants of that time and place).

I've been playing a lot of Ascendancy (by Logic Factory) as well as Metroid Prime 1 and 2. Fun games, but they make me think about the things I am writing in different ways.

Last week I asked myself why I am writing my stories...

Well, for one, my personal story (distant future) has been in planning since I was a kid reading Dune; it is a personal goal of mine to portray my version of the far far future and show how it is that people (humans?) live there.

For the 2040 story, I am fulfilling my fantasy of becoming an astronaut by conjuring up a very possible solar system and its workings... from trade networks to pirates to an ending involving the discovery of alien technology and integration into an intergalactic community.

Also, these books will make for great stories in and of themselves, though it is not my place, but the place of future generations, to judge the worth of my stories. I am no Isaac Asimov, nor am I Arthur C. Clarke nor Stephen Baxter nor any other talented writer.

I just have ideas, a sense of grammar, and my computer keyboard.

And that's all anyone ever needs.
